Anime studio Sunrise announced on Friday that FictionJunction is singing "distance" as the new ending theme song for the high-definition remaster of its Mobile Suit Gundam Seed
television series. The song will begin streaming in episode 29 on June
22, and the same episode will run in the satellite/cable channel BS11 on
July 1, followed by the Tokyo MX station on July 3.
FictionJunction is the collaboration of composer Yuki Kajiura and a lineup of vocalists. Collectively, they performed the theme songs for Ōkamikakushi, Pandora Hearts, and Sacred Seven; the various members have contributed songs to many more anime titles. FictionJunction will perform at Anime Expo in Los Angeles this summer.
